• This applet uses if statements to compare 2 integers.
• It illustrates some guidelines regarding program appearance:
  • For clarity, each line should contain at most 1 statement.
  • White space characters (tabs, newlines, and spaces) are normally ignored by the compiler.
  • Statements consequently can be split over several lines, if need be.
  • Splitting names and string literals however is incorrect:

} // this splitting of an if statement is fine.
