I received my M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara,in 2006 and 2007, respectively under the supervision of Prof. Divyakant Agrawal and Prof. Amr El Abbadi, and my B.S.degree in computer and systems engineering fromAlexandria University in 2000.

My research focuses on database systems, the new applications of data managementand data mining, distributed systems, and peer-to-peer systems. I havepublications in the areas of data streams, mining association rules, OLAP anddata cubes, and the implementation of data management algorithms on specializedhardware. My main Ph.D. work and dissertation proposed data managementtechniques for analyzing Internet advertising traffic as a comprehensiveapproach for click fraud detection.

Throughout my PhD, I worked at several Internet Advertising Commissioners including Google, Ask.com, Valueclick, Fastclick, and Commission Junction.

I once heard that other people do some stuff other than work, and I wasadventurous enough to try  it. Since that time, I learned some stuff and Ienjoy doing them every now and then. I run like 6 miles every day. Occasionally, Iplay chess, table tennis, basketball, tennis, pool, frisbee, and swim. Onceupon a time, I planned to become a professional guitar player or a painter, butI realized this could be too risky of a career. I am regretting this now...
