The participating
departments and research laboratories are well equipped with state
of the art computing facilities. These resources include:

Multimedia networking lab, with several formats
of fiber interconnectivity, ATM and GigiBit switches and routers,
and gateway servers

Computer vision and image processing labs, with
high end image processing workstations, cameras, and audio/video
capture devices

A digital classroom facility developed as part
of the UCSB Digital Campus infrastructure project, with wireless
connectivity and video servers for distributing lectures on
demand

A distributed systems lab, with a CORBA server
farm and virtual environment I/O devices

An active-sensing installation space, with multiple
channels of video capture, analysis, and projection; and the
pluriphonic sound studios, which allow up to 8-channel surround
sound mastering

An eStudio with a lecture hall, an advanced
projects classroom, interactive motion sensing cameras, and
facilities for video editing and DVD production. In addition,
a telecommunications research laboratory is being developed.

a 360° lab for the study of immersive spaces.
