Mentoring

The existing Media Arts and Technology (MAT) master’s program is a critical resource for the IGERT program. MAT students focus in one of three areas of interactive digital multimedia: (1) multimedia engineering, (2) electronic music and sound design, and (3) visual and spatial arts.

After their first year, IGERT Students may wish to act as a mentor to one or two of the incoming MAT students. Because the two groups have much in common, IGERT scholars are great resources for MAT students, and a mentor relationship gives the IGERT student valuable leadership experience as well as a pool from which to draw help on Group Projects.
